Make sure you are always well groomed,professional and bubbly. You need to make a great impressions. A casting director may see 50 people for the same job, so when you leave the casting you want the casting director to remember you. Remember, you will be at the casting because someone loved the way you looked on the web site,so now you have to give them something to remember.

Always dress for the part.If the casting is for a young fresh faced person,you don't want to arrive at the casting in heavy make-up looking older than your age.LESS IS MORE! Always go for natural make-up and clean un-fussy hair.

PORTFOLIO:


This is a models bible. Without photos how can you sell yourself? Remember you can be the most beautiful/attractive person in the world but if you are not photogenic, this could cause a problem. You need to have many different looks in your portfolio,showing you in different poses, in different outfits and different hairstyles.

A great tip that many professional models will tell you is practice,practice, practice!! It may feel awkward at first,but try standing in front of a mirror and practice some posing and facial expressions. Also,study magazines and see how the proffesionals work in front of the camera. This will help no end when you come to work in front of the camera.

DIET AND FITNESS:


You are what you eat! I know it sounds like a cliche but it is true. You need to look after your face and body from the inside and out. Your face and body are your fortune. You should try and exercise at least three times a week to maintain a healthy body. Toned, lean bodies look much better on camera. Always try to drink at least two litres of water a day. This will keep your skin clear, healthy and hydrated.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR SKIN:


We have already covered two important tips for looking after your skin and they are drinking plenty of water and watching what you eat. Women should really try and maintain a good skin care routine. For your body, dry skin brushing is great for combatting cellulite.Always moisturize your body with a body lotion or body oil. Try to avoid sun-bathing and sunbeds.Why not cheat to get that goden glow? Go for fake tanning lotions and creams or mousses or how about a spray tan?

The most important part of your face care routine is CLEANSING. Women who wear make-up should follow a skin care routine of cleansing,toning and moisturizing each evening as well as washing the face in the morning. Cleansing will remove old make-up and the grease and grime that have accumalated during the day.

Remove mascara with eye-make up remover then cleanse your face and neck with a face cleanser then follow with a toner. Toners remove all traces of dirt,make-up or cleanser that remain after cleansing. The final step is moisturizing. Without moisture, the skin will not remain smooth and supple. The face is exposed to the drying effect of the weather, so moisturisers,which form a film over the skin, rehydrate the skin. This also prevents ageing.

Always use a night moisturiser in the evening and a good day day cream, prefferrably one that contains SPF's or sunscreen. Don't forget your neck when cleansing and moisturizing your face.

HEALTHY HAIR:

Three main things are needed for a good looking head of hair; good health, the right attention to cleanliness and caution when using treatments. Hair growth depends on an adequate diet.A widespread diet problem which causes hair loss is an iron deficency. Fresh fruit and vegetables are needed to provide vitamin C which enables the body to absorb iron.

Regular hair cuts are essential to healthy hair growth. Although scalp hair is hardy and can withstand alot of abuse it can be damaged by too much or inexpertly applied perming,dyeing or bleaching. The amount of bleaching,straightening etc. the hair can take varies from person to person. The best advice is to limit colouring,bleaching,blow-dryingand straightening.
